Leadership Team

We believe that God gives spiritual gifts of leadership to His church (Romans 12:8).

We believe in the ascension ministry gifts of Christ to the church mentioned in Ephesians 4:11-16, namely Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers “to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up”. Where these gifts are not resident in the fellowship, ministry from outside is brought in to ensure a balance of input to the church.

We believe in the plurality of leadership and also that God gives a leader among equals (the ‘set man’) who is the main visionary of the church.

We believe in the appointment of both men and women to the function of Elders and Deacons who are responsible for overseeing the spiritual and practical day to day running of the church.

We believe that God calls every member of His church into ministry and consequently we do not make any distinctions of ‘clergy’ or ‘laity’. It is the responsibility of the church leadership in consultation with each member to prayerfully determine their God given gifts, to encourage those gifts, (if necessary by external training), and release those gifts into the Body, locally and further a field.

The gift of leadership is encouraged and recognised at every level with the understanding that to grow the church we need to ‘grow’ leaders.
